In this work, a design of a microfluidic chip capable of selectively capturing white blood cells from whole blood cells is presented. This device takes the advantage of the differecne in size, deformation, and elasticity between blood cells. It consists of a two-layer trapping system fabricated using photolithography and soft lithography. This chip enables high-resolution imaging of live white blood cells (either individual cells or in groups), obtained by taking a -50 Ul blood sample by fingerprick, this does not require drying of the cells of fixing the cells as in the case of smear the blood.
