Acts of violence and terrorism in Iraq have led to an increase in the number of people with special needs. Iraq is now considered to be at the forefront of the world in the number of people with special needs with skin distortion. To resolve this problem, we developed a composite material that improved skin appearance as the prepared material was able to be formed in an economic way without diminishing its mechanical properties, not be affected by the fluids excreted by the body, the substance not be toxic to the patient as it leads to tissue toxicity or infections, and be easy to sterilize.
This project aims to benefit from local fish scales(they contain a large percentage of phosphorous so that an environmentally safe substance), which are not utilized through operations manufacturing and packaging, these scales are disposed of in a primitive way despite their economic value. It is known that these peels include chitosan, which is one of the types of natural polymers. The many uses that reach more than 200 different uses including medicinal uses as anti-bacterial& Parasites.
The effectiveness of the prepared silicone sheets supported by chitosan and oliban lies in the increase in elasticity and durability, it provides a possible increase in the moisture levels in the scar area, isolating it from the aerobic bacteria, raising the temperature, and increasing the pressure on the scar. It improves skin coloration depending on the size and depth of the injury, thickness and skin color.
It is prepared in the form of a gel that hardens when applied to the skin at room temperature, allowing the skin in the area of injury to grow in the same neighboring (healthy) area, and this improves the appearance of the skin after burns or surgeries
