The present invention discloses a composition having antiaging and antioxidant properties, its uses and method thereof.
The composition comprises an effective amount of a eugenol compound extracted from Piper betle; an effective amount of an ellagic acid compound extracted from Areca catechu; an effective amount of a galangin compound extracted from Orthosiphon aristatus, Piper betle or combination thereof; and an effective amount of a quercetin compound extracted from Boesenbergia rotunda, Piper betle, Orthosiphon aristatus or combinations thereof. The eugenol, the ellagic acid, the galangin and the quercetin in combination provide a synergistic increase in inhibition of collagenase, elastase and hyaluronidase, and in protection against free radicals in normal human skin fibroblast cells.
