In the current diamond market, the round brilliant cut is by far the most popular one, especially in the color of white. However, it is uncommon to find colored diamonds in round cut. As we know, among the top ten colored diamonds in the world, there is not any round cut diamond. But why? There are two reasons: First of all, the round brilliant cut would make the colorless diamonds produce bright refraction, but the wastage rate of this method is more than 50%; whereas the wastage rate within unrounded cuts is only 30%-40%; Additionally, the strong refraction of the round brilliant cut would cause the color of the diamonds to turn pale, and make the visual color lighter, even partially dark. This cutting plan is suitable for diamonds of all colors. It could better present the colors based on the following three aspects:
1. Broaden the width of the diamond table facet;
2. The crown and pavilion facets can adjust the height;
3. If there are more than three facets of pavilions, the middle part could bulge outwards.

The three designs mentioned above could not only reduce the wastage of raw materials, but also could increase the saturation of the diamond’s color, by changing the way the light moves inside; so that, the color of the diamond would not get dark from the dilution of the strong refraction. Furthermore, this plan is suitable for more eco-friendly cultivated diamonds. Firstly, embryos of colored lab grown diamonds are in large amount; secondly, the cultivated diamonds are relatively flat; so, this design can reduce the material loss by adjusting the facet height.

My motivations and vision for this cutting plan are based on:
• making the more eco-friendly-cultivated-diamonds universal,
• attaining carbon neutrality,
• Reaching the harmonious co-existence between beauty and nature.
